We are moving from Colorado to Seattle to live aboard our newly acquired 28' Irwin sloop, currently moored on Bainbridge Island. That marina does not accept pets as residents, and we have a cat. We have found a marina we could move to in Brimmon, but that's a LONG way from Seattle, and we expect to be working in or near the Seattle area. Any hints on a marina that accepts liveaboards, accepts cats, is within commuting (ferry OK) distance of Seattle, and has space? Thanks and good weather to you!

Re: Mooring space needed
Sat, August 27, 2005 - 9:48 PMI lived on Bainbridge Is. (B.I. Marina and Winslow Warf) for about a year and nobody ever even asked if I had a cat, which I did. I find that it's always best to just not talk about where you live to anybody that might be close to you and connected to the "marina people".
But, there is a marina in Bremerton, Wa. that still allows pretty much anything including cats, it's called Port Washington and it is a 45 min Ferry ride to Seattle. When me, my partner and cat were living there it was a really cool anything goes kind of place...
Anyway good luck!

Re: Mooring space needed
Sat, November 5, 2005 - 7:03 PMThere are some spots on Lake Union the I have seen cats living on the boats. I agree with Popeye, just dont make it known to anyone you have a cat. Most people dont even ask. And some of the smaller mirinas like cats cuz they keep the birds away. Good luck.
